Grace Institute is proud to announce our second annual Moving Women Forward Mini-Conference on women in the workforce. We will convene workforce, nonprofit, corporate, and government leaders, as well as alumnae from our training programs, to explore AI and equity in the workplace. From the emerging gender divide to the practical workplace impacts, we will explore how we can leverage AI technology to propel women towards economic self-sufficiency and independence.
In keeping with our mission and the women we serve, Moving Women Forward will focus on the experiences of women who are unemployed and underemployed. Our goal for this conference is to spark discussion, lead action, and lift up the voices and perspectives of the diverse women we serve through our training and placement programs. Extensive research has shown that women, and especially Black women, have a greater risk of being left behind by generative AI in the workplace.
A Harvard Business School meta-analysis of 18 separate studies covering 143,008 individuals across 25 countries found women had 22 percent lower odds of using generative AI than men. And according to a McKinsey report, Black Americans are overrepresented in the roles most likely to be overtaken by automation – roles that include office support.
Our goal for this conference is to spark discussion, lead action, and lift up the voices and perspectives of the diverse women we serve through our training and placement programs.
