Events
Grace Institute hosts and participates in a variety of events, conferences, fundraisers, trainings, and other celebrations. By fostering connections, building networks, and celebrating achievements, we empower the women we serve and expand our community of supporters and partners.
UPCOMING EVENT: 2025 Mini-Conference: Moving Women Forward
Grace Institute is excited to announce the launch of Moving Women Forward, our first-ever mini-conference on women in the workforce. On June 5, 2025, we will convene workforce, nonprofit, corporate, and government leaders, as well as alumnae from our training programs to explore how we can best move women forward to economic self-sufficiency, independence, and fulfillment in the workplace. The afternoon’s panel discussions and breakout sessions will look at the themes of social mobility and community and how they play a critical role in success for women in the workplace.
In keeping with our mission and the women we serve, Moving Women Forward will have a particular focus on the experiences of women who are starting off below the poverty line, particularly women of color and those without a four-year college degree. Our goal for this conference is to spark discussion about career mobility, lead action around women’s pathways for success, and lift up the voices and perspectives of the diverse women we serve through our training and placement programs.

PAST & ONGOING EVENTS

Our largest and longest-running annual fundraiser brings together supporters from New York City and beyond to raise approximately $400,000 to fund our tuition-free workplace training, wraparound services, job placement, and continuous learning opportunities.

Every March, we celebrate International Women’s Day with our supporters, partners, and community. In 2024, Financial journalist Josie Cox joined Grace Institute Board
Chair, Iva Vukina (Managing Director, Goldman Sachs) to discuss Josie’s book, Women Money Power: The Rise and Fall of Economic Equality.

Graduations are a crucial piece of our graduates’ journey, where we celebrate their successes with friends and family, hand out diplomas, and hear from inspirational speakers within and outside of our program.
Past speakers have included
Mercedes Bell from Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Shirelle Nix from Merrill Lynch, and Jessica Taylor from Goldman Sachs.

We host corporate partners at our 40 Rector St offices to volunteer through interview training, career conversations, and leadership talks. Corporate volunteering is a key part of preparing our participants for career success and building strong relationships with our corporate partners.

We host Job Fairs at our offices twice annually, inviting employer partners and hiring managers from across New York City to meet with graduates and alumnae from our program.

We celebrate each cohort, three times a year, with breakfast and coffee at our offices. Staff, board, and supporters from our community join us as we meet our new group of participants. Participants set goals, hear from Board members, and bond with each other in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

We hosted the Shared Lane Expanding Pathways Collaborative Meeting at our offices in November 2024, bringing together high school counselors and other workforce training agencies to collaborate on strategies for smoother transitions for students moving from high school to workforce training programs, and make recommendations to share future policies and practices.
