    Citymeals on Wheels provides a continuous lifeline of nourishing meals and vital companionship to our homebound elderly neighbors.

    You can get food today from New York City’s food pantries, which provide groceries you can cook at home, and community kitchens, which provide hot meals. Food pantries and community kitchens are located throughout the five boroughs. If you need food immediately, find locations near you here.

  • Invisible Hands
    Request a delivery of supplies, groceries or whatever else you may need. A volunteer will bring it to your doorstep. It’s free, easy, and safe.
  • HungerFree NYC
    Publishes neighborhood guides to food and assistance, which cover all neighborhoods in NYC by zip code and are available in multiple languages.

  • NYS Unemployment Assistance
    Unemployment Insurance is temporary income for eligible workers who lose their jobs through no fault of their own. To collect benefits, you must be ready, willing, and able to work, and actively looking for work during each week in which you are claiming benefits.

    An online tool for helping low-income New Yorkers solve their legal problems. Free legal services throughout New York State. Legal rights in a broad range of substantive areas. The New York State court system. Advocacy groups, government offices and social service organizations that help New Yorkers.

    24/7 bilingual English/Spanish hotline for individuals who experience or witness violence in the LGBTQ community and/ or are HIV positive. Provides linkage to resources and legal advocacy.

    24/7 crisis intervention, supportive counseling and referral services in over 200 languages. Helps both survivors and people who are concerned that they are being abusive. Can chat via website 8am-1am.

    The Bottomless Closet offers appointments, during which women are paired with a volunteer career coach to pick out professional clothing, shoes, and accessories from their boutique and review and update their resumes. Their process is centered around making women feel confident, prepared, and empowered to ace their job interviews, start that new job, and begin their journey to self-sufficiency. Participants also gain access to workshops in financial management, professional development, and personal enrichment as well as career days.

    Dress for Success empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing the network and support they need to navigate the world of work. They accept clothing donations once per month, and deliver services and programs to help women overcome gender-based challenges, including a calendar of virtual workshops, virtual career coaching event, and virtual styling guidance.
