Courses for the day program includes:
This course covers Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. Students will learn how to create proper office documents, letters, spreadsheets, and presentations. Students also learn how to navigate the Internet for professional and research purposes.
This class is designed to improve both typing speed and accuracy to provide you with the ability to navigate your way around a keyboard quickly. Students must achieve a minimum speed of 45 words per minute.
Business Writing and Communications
This course starts by reviewing the essential rules of verbal and written communications, including grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. We then work with you to improve your presentation of ideas through composing, editing, and proofreading office correspondence. Our goal is to ensure that your writing is clear and concise and conforms to contemporary professional standards.
This class teaches you what you need to know to obtain a job and succeed in your career. You will investigate workplace trends, learn the hard and soft skills you need to succeed, discuss appropriate business protocol, behavior, and attire, and explore different communication styles. You will learn how to maintain a professional and positive attitude, examine how to manage professional relationships, and look at time management and team building. You will demonstrate use of the internet for job searches, travel arrangements, and more. You will also learn career development skills, including how to write an effective resume, cover letter, and thank-you note, and how to prepare for an interview successfully.
